Strengthening Student Welfare at the University of Ghana

Supporting young people goes beyond awareness and education — sometimes, it starts with making sure their basic needs are met.

When we learned about the Food Bank Initiative under the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs at the University of Ghana, we were deeply moved by its purpose. It quietly serves students who are navigating more than academic pressure — students facing financial strain, food insecurity, and difficult personal circumstances that can make university life heavier than it appears on the surface.

As an organisation committed to the wellbeing of young people, we felt compelled to support this effort.
Last week, the Kahneman Foundation donated GHS 2,000 to the Food Bank Initiative to help ensure that no student is left behind simply because life outside the classroom is hard.

For us, this wasn’t just a donation — it was an affirmation of what we stand for:
that every young person deserves stability, opportunity, and a little relief when life gets overwhelming.

We are grateful to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs for leading such a necessary project, and we remain committed to walking alongside partners who are creating practical, compassionate solutions for Ghana’s youth.
